About Us

Get to Know More About Galcon Precast Ltd in Duncan

Galcon Precast Ltd was started in 1972 by a father and son team. We began by serving only the Cowichan Valley. Our company started as a backyard manufacturing business with a ready-mix truck to deliver the concrete. The company evolved quickly, moving to where we are presently located in Duncan. Dan hired Neil as his first employee, and they were on a roll ever since, expanding their product line and eventually building a batch plant and assembly line. With the growth of the production side of the company, Galcon Precast Ltd grew its fleet of crane trucks to accommodate. Although we now offer crane work, septic tanks will always be our first priority.

The company grew with the wastewater industry, working closely with leading engineers to develop products. Galcon Precast Ltd became known not only on Vancouver Island; we are known throughout British Columbia for building one of the first of the largest tanks.

In the spring of 2007, Dan sold the business to his key employee Neil. This was something they had talked about early in the company’s history. Neil had been working with Dan in every aspect of the business, and he was no stranger to the challenges that can occur in the industry. Furthermore, Neil was always looking for ways to improve products and production. It was because of Neil’s extensive history with the business that the transition of ownership went relatively unnoticed – it was business as usual.

Today, Galcon Precast Ltd is a family-run business, with Neil at the helm and his son Ernie working in every aspect of the company. Recently, Ernie has started taking on some tasks that Neil would have previously completed and is proud to be carrying on in his father’s tradition. Neil’s wife Joanne has also joined the group and began working in the office.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING

Great Experience

i had a great experience in dealing with  Dans Precast. i had to lift and move a septic tank to a lower level and the whole process went very smooth. The driver (cliff i believe) was very professional,  thoughtful and friendly and very easy to deal with .

i had to coordinate the lift after i had pumped the tank. Ernie (in the office) was able to coordinate a lift time that worked out for all of us.

i will use Dans Septic in the future for sure. do not hesitate to call, they have a newer crane truck that can lift all kinds of things...just call them and talk to them about your needs....Great job and thank you again, jim
